1. Local Transcription and Data
Lost in Transcription places a premium on your privacy. For users utilizing our local transcription models (Whisper running on Apple Silicon), all audio processing happens entirely on your machine. Your media never leaves your Mac and is not transmitted to any external servers.
2. Cloud AI Transcription
If you choose to use third-party cloud transcription via API keys (such as OpenAI), the audio data necessary for transcription is securely sent to those service providers according to your configuration. We do not store, access, or log this data on our own servers. Please consult the privacy policy of the respective cloud provider.
3. App Analytics & Diagnostics
We may opt-in to standard Apple App Store analytics (like crash logs) to help us improve the app and ensure it runs smoothly inside Final Cut Pro. This data is entirely anonymous and contains no personally identifiable information or actual content from your Final Cut Pro timelines.
